adidas’ deconstructed NMD_XR1 series has been one of the year’s most popular sneakers, appearing in a huge number of iterations throughout the summer. One of the more recent updates was a version in “Pitch Black,” which saw the normally caged upper reworked in the brand’s signature Primeknit construction. Now to add a little yin to its yang, adidas has just unveiled another Primeknit XR1 in all white.

And while at first glance it may seem no different from this year’s earlier NMD in “Triple White,” the Primeknit truly makes all the difference. This sneaker also adds the flat-knit material in place of the caged upper, wrought in an allover glitch pattern and strengthened with tonal overlays.

But it’s not all Primeknit, as the addition of a plush leather material on the heel patch makes for a subtle contrast in texture. The sneaker is finished off with equally subtle tonal branding details, including an inspired print coming out of the heel.

No official release date has been set, but expect the adidas NMD_XR1 Primeknit in all white to appear sometime this October.
