The brand new New Balance 1978 will be making it debut this weekend. If you’re a New Balance enthusiast, you may notice that the shoe shares some similarities to the classic New Balance 990, which is absolutely true since the shoe is said to be a modernized version of the shoe.
The whole concept and idea behind the the New Balance 1978 was to design it using the brands most premium materials, while also keeping it at an affordable price point. They manage to do this by constructing the upper out of a premium suede and leather build with subtle features such as perforation hits on the toe as well as on the N branding on the side paneling. Additional features include the reflective detailing and a deconstructed leather collar. The removal of layers/overlays and the sleek aesthetic definitely give this model a very trendy and modern look to them. The shoe will be releasing in a handful of classic colorways beginning March 18th for the retail price of $150. I like what New Balance is dishing out this year. They continue to release quality products and they’ve managed to modernize the look of some o their latest drops.
