Back in November, New Balance announced it would pip huge competitors like Nike and adidas to the post and create the first 3d-printed running shoes. The shoes, named the “Zante Generate,” will finally be released later this week and they look super impressive.

New Balance has been at the forefront of 3D printing and has been utilizing this exciting and innovative technology to customize products for their athletes for a number of years. Through an exclusive collaboration with 3D Systems and their newly developed elastomeric powder, DuraForm Flex TPU, the 3D-printed midsoles achieve an optimal balance of flexibility, strength, weight and durability. Within this incredibly flexible midsole, hundreds of small, open cells provide cushioning and structure.

The “Zante Generate” will initially be limited to just 44 pairs and will be priced at $400. Head over to newbalance.com on April 15 to purchase.
