Nike SB’s latest silhouette taps into the historic connection between basketball and skateboarding footwear.

The Nike Bruin marked the genesis of Nike Basketball, but it was co-opted soon afterward by skateboarders, who were drawn to the silhouette for its grip and herringbone outsole. Now, Nike’s SB imprint has incorporated modern performance technology, including a sockliner, an anatomically constructed upper, a flexible outsole and the Hyperfeel concept found in the newly-released Koston 3. The end result is a shoe with maximized boardfeel, bringing skaters closer to their decks for better control.

The Nike SB Bruin Hyperfeel retails for $100 USD and it is dropping March 25.
