Offspring’s 2014 “Desert” collab with ASICS has been one of its most popular over the past two decades. So, when it became time to celebrate its 20-year anniversary, the Japanese footwear staple made the perfect collaborative partner for the UK-based retailer. The result? A brand new take on the GEL-Lyte V.
Taking cues from the cobblestone streets and piazza of the first Offspring store, the design employs rich beige suede and nubuck alike, pairing the two materials to replicate the off-white stone pavers of the market stalls at Covent Garden. Inside, colorful teal lines the shoe as a nod to Offspring’s original 1996 branding hue. Finally, bespoke cobbled sock liners and specially stamped lace tips (with the Japanese symbol for “20″) complete the package.
The first of a two-part ASICS collab for its 20-year milestone, the celebratory GEL-Lyte V drops in-store and online this Friday, March 25.
